funky49′s cheesesteak recipe (aka the stevesteak)

February 21st, 2005 | By 49

The following recipe will make 2-3 sandwiches.

material
1 lb top round roast beef from the deli (shreaded/sliced thin if possible)
.5 lb cheese (.25 american + .25 of provlone or havarti or whatever youd like)
1 loaf French baguette bread (i like Publix’s bakery bread)
1 bottle Beano’s Submarine Dressing

preperation
Heat up a griddle to around 250/300F. Squirt some sub dressing (~1TB spoon) where you are placing the meat. Cut the baguette bread into 2 or 3 pieces. I recommend making the bread “inside out” by pulling out the ‘excess’ bread in the middle. Lay out the shreaded roast beef and let it cook up some. Chop it up into bits using a spatula. When the meat is almost done changing color, arrange it into 2 or 3 piles that will fit into the rolls. Place the cheese on top of the pile of meat. Allow the cheese to melt and maybe mush it up into the meat some. Take one of your rolls and lay it on top of the meat and cheese pile. Allow the bread to absorb some of the steam. Using the spatula, get it under the meat and cheese and flip it right-side up while moving the roll with your other hand. Serve with salty, crispy potato chips. I recommend Cape Cod’s kettle cooked 40% reduced fat chips. You can also cook add in chopped onions and green peppers into the mix (heating them up before starting the meat). The true Stevesteak has no vegetables… only bread + meat + cheese. Mmmm…

Jello Shots

February 18th, 2005 | By 49

There are 68 jello shots in my fridge right now. To make alcoholic jello, you replace the “cold water” in the recipe with “cold liquor”. The best flavor seems to be Coconut Rum + Watermelon jello. Your liver has been warned.
